Friends,
Long time no see! Since I finished previous teaching job at Reed College (Portland, OR), my time has been spent on health improvement and composing. My backache has gradually ceased, and the new Paleo diet keeps me calm. I have had an incredible season so far. Every collaboration with my musicians is a heartfelt dialogue, adventure, and musical. There are so many thoughts that are impossible to tweet or to verbalize it. It is the vast numbers of human conditions that are what the world we live in is about.

It is about less than 10 days to the Spring Festival (Chinese New Year)! I am excited about going home in Taiwan to stay with my family until the end of February, and sit tight to complete the rest of the commissions from this season. During the stay, I will also join the rehearsal and a workshop open to the public with 3peoplemusic, and visit many dear friends I haven’t chatted for a long while! Friends residing in Ohio, Taipei, New York, and Zagreb Croatia will be my best ears to witness many preimeres for solo, chamber, and orchestra. Details are available at this page.
In the meantime, I am very happy to be recruited into the Composers Equity Project. Friends and member ensembles of Chamber Music America will be able to find me there. Currently I am scheduling my writing schedule for the new season 2018-2019. I would be happy to hear from you about future collaboration!
Warmest Wishes,
Yuan
